Scholarship

Gamma Phi Beta works hard to excel on the OU campus. Maintaining a strong focus on academics is both highly encouraged and supported in our sorority. Our academic success will shape us for future careers, challenges, and prepare us as proud leaders exemplifying the best the University of Oklahoma has to offer.

Gamma Phi Beta cultivates its members to excel in the classroom through:
study hall sessions, monetary rewards for superb grade point averages and reimbursements for tutoring expenses.

Psi Chapter bestows annual scholarships for members:
Dorothy Braly Scholarships are awarded to twelve recipients.
Linda Clark Anderson Scholarship is given to a senior.
International Gamma Phi Beta awards a scholarship to one outstanding Psi member each year along with other scholarships.

Awards

Gamma Phi Beta has been awarded

The President’s Trophy – 2 times
(only accomplished by a few OU sororities)

This is the campus organizations highest award. It recognizes excellence in academics, multicultural involvements and activities on and off campus.

We have also won numerous awards at the International level including the award for the most outstanding collegiate chapter.

Gamma Phi Beta also has numerous members in the Greek Honor Society, Order of Omega. These women are selected due to their outstanding performances both inside and outside the classroom.

Giving Back

Each fall the women of Gamma Phi Beta conduct the campus’ largest philanthropic activity, the Chili Cook-off, with proceeds benefiting the Norman United Way. In the Chili Cook-Off various campus groups cook their best chili recipes for a panel of celebrity judges to rate. Hundreds of students and Norman residents gather at the chapter house to enjoy the food and festivities.

Gamma Phi Beta logged over 15,000 community hours this year and had over 50 members serving on various campus Executives. Community service projects in the Norman area are a passion for Gamma Phi Beta, but we also have a worldwide interest in helping others, which is through our International Philanthropy Camp Fire USA. Our members have participated in community service projects in Italy, Zambia and Uganda.
